- High efficiency: When shopping for air conditioners, find the most efficient unit by comparing the SEER rating of each.
- Variable speed: A furnace or air conditioner with a blower motor that moves at different speeds to control the flow of air into your home, resulting in better efficiency.
- Two-stage heating: This type of furnace has a high level for very cold days and a low setting for milder days, resulting in quiet, efficient performance.
- Two-stage cooling: This means the air conditioner or heat pump has a compressor with TWO levels of operations: high for hot summer days and low for milder days. Since the low setting is adequate to meet household cooling 80% of the time a two-stage unit runs for longer periods and produces more even temperatures.
